Laboratory Services

The laboratory at Wilson Memorial Hospital offers a full range of services for both inpatients and outpatients, providing a wide variety of testing services 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The department tests blood, urine and tissues to help doctors diagnose and treat a variety of conditions.

In addition to providing testing procedures when ordered through the hospital or a physician's office, the laboratory offers a variety of Walk-in Tests available daily to the public on a cash basis. Our Walk-In Testing program offers anyone the opportunity to obtain certain laboratory tests without a doctor's order, allowing you to be involved in your own healthcare and management.

Wilson's laboratory includes a blood bank, which is a transfusion service that performs pre-transfusion testing and issues units of blood, platelets or plasma when needed. The laboratory is complete with state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained, qualified professionals to provide accurate, reliable test results.

Outpatient hours are:

Monday-Friday 6am - 6pm
Saturday 7am-11am

Wilson's lab is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), an international, not-for-profit association dedicated to the advancement of science and the practice of transfusion medicine and related biological therapies.
