The Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is currently accepting applications for its health career scholarship program. The Wilson Auxiliary has been awarding scholarships since 1979. Each year scholarships are given to recipients who are pursuing a career in the medical field. This year five $500 scholarships will be awarded. Graduating high school seniors as well as current college students are encouraged to apply. “We’re interested in individuals planning to major in or who are currently pursuing studies in healthcare related fields such as nursing, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, careers in radiology or any other type of medical field,” said Marianne Helmlinger, scholarship committee chair. “Graduating seniors of any high school in Shelby County, as well as college students in the county who are currently enrolled in a healthcare field of study are eligible to apply.” Applications are available at the front desk in Wilson Memorial Hospital’s main lobby or online at www.wilsonhospital.com.
